The KSDE site was developed for the Kansas State Department of Education as a
resource for institutions of higher education as they implement the Academy
modules. The resources include online modules, presentations developed by the
Academy for faculty and technical staff responsible for implementation,
opportunitites for discussion among staff of participating institutions and
resources material shared by instructors or the Academy staff. The intent is to
use this site to facilitate the efforts of pre-service teacher training programs
in implementing the Academy modules. The site will be expanded as needed services
and resources are identified as being helpful to institutions of higher education
as they implement the Academy modules.
The Online Academy is engaged in the business of providing e-learning solutions
for the 21st century. The Academy develops web-based modules and other technology
innovations for moving validated educational interventions from research to
practice. The resources are designed to empower teacher educators in the areas of
Reading, Technology, and Positive Behavioral Support.
The Online Academy, at the University of Kansas, is funded by the Office of
Special Education Programs in the U.S. Department of Education to support
preservice and inservice teacher education programs nationwide. All modules are
the property of the Online Academy.
