The Academy was funded as an initiative by the Office of Special Education Programs to develop instructional modules in reading, positive behavioral support, and technology in education for preservice teacher education programs across the nation.
While the focus of the Online Academy was on preparing teachers of students with disabilities, the movement toward inclusion made the modules relevant for all teachers. This site featured instructional modules for delivery online based on research interventions. The Online Academy modules can now be found in the eLearning Design Lab's resource section.
